Utah Phillips and the Rose
Tattoo
The
Rose Tattoo, of which Utah is Grand Master and where
he is known as "Bow Tie"" is a widely
dispersed band of nomads with three things in common:
travel by freight train, the ability to carry a tune
and a tattoo of a rose somewhere on their persons.
Their motto is "mors ante servitium" which
translates into "death before employment".
The Waifs
Their
tales of apples, transvestites, true hearts, mothers
and love have taken them from the front rooms of pubs
to one of the most successful independent bands in
Australia.
